Natural Family Planning - Phoenix, Arizona

Natural Family Planning (NFP) Course

Until further notice NFP courses in the greater Phoenix area are being offered live in a virtual classroom format instead of in person. Where parishes are open to hosting live courses in the upper regions of the diocese (Flagstaff, Kingman, and Bullhead City), NFP courses are offered in person. There is also an option to take a self-paced online NFP course.

The Natural Family Planning course will acquaint you with both masculine and feminine fertility and how to recognize the signs of fertility in a woman’s body. It will also help you apply this knowledge to your own situation.

Since you are learning a new skill based on fertility awareness, this course will take 10 to 12 weeks to complete. Depending on the method chosen, you will attend between 4 and 6 sessions, ranging from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours for each session. Each method has a different schedule of classes and individual follow up for the remainder of the course. This is Step 5 in our marriage prep process.

In the Diocese of Phoenix, we offer classes in a variety of NFP methods so that you can decide what method best fits you. We have some questions you can ask yourselves to help guide your decision. For some couples, the decision comes down to practical considerations as they need to join the the next available series of classes. However, if you have time to wait for the next class of the method that best suits you, then take this quiz!
