Natural Family Planning (NFP) Course
NFP courses in the Diocese of Phoenix are offered in person, or in a virtual classroom format. There is also an option to take a self-paced online NFP course. This course is Step 5 in our marriage prep process.
The Natural Family Planning course is a full curriculum that will allow you to learn about and practice a natural method. It will acquaint you with both masculine and feminine fertility and how to recognize the signs of fertility in a woman’s body. It will also help you apply this knowledge to your own situation.
To allow the couple to learn this new skill properly, all courses take 10 to 12 weeks to complete. Depending on the method chosen, you will attend between 4 and 6 sessions. Each method has a different schedule of classes and individual follow up for the remainder of the course.
In the Diocese of Phoenix, we offer classes in a variety of NFP methods so that you can decide what method best fits you. For some couples, however the decision may come down to practical considerations such as the need to join the next available series of classes in order to meet marriage prep deadlines.
